Actionable wisdom:
“Imagine being able to travel the world while you sleep. You can try every food on the planet free of charge, try on expensive, designer clothes, hang out with celebrities or lost loved ones, and maybe even have an existential conversation with your dog.”
🧙 Are you ready to take your dreams to the next level? For centuries lucid dreaming has allowed practitioners to master their fears, spark creativity and solve problems that elude them in the waking realm.
See how becoming a more active participant in your dreams can lead to better sleep, improved mindfulness and, of course, having existential conversations with your dog. (Hoozagoodboy, and how do we quantify a relative moral term like “good”?)
This week’s cool thing:
🧤 Technology is always at the ready to help us achieve any goal, lucid dreaming being no exception.
MIT has created Dormio, a biometric glove that can enhance and extend the hypnogogic state to smooth the path for lucid dreaming. It’s not yet commercially available, but if you’re handy with a soldering iron and a compiler, the software and schematics are open source (links in the article).
Side note:
🌀 If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be hypnotized, check out this video to experience it firsthand. (Fear not: your hypnotist’s credentials are right there on his t-shirt.)

Back matter:
As always, if you got something out of this email and know someone else who would too, we’d love it if you forwarded it to them.
And if you want to improve your sleep (or the sleep of someone you care about), all of our products are designed to do just that.
Finally, if you come across anything interesting this week, feel free to send it our way! We love sharing things that we find through readers of this newsletter.
Have a great week,
