We've been loyal Manta mask customers for years and have always appreciated the quality and design. Unfortunately, our most recent purchase has been a significant disappointment.
Within just 8 months of delicate, occasional hand-washing, both of our masks developed the same defect: one eye cup on each mask is sagging in the middle and pressing uncomfortably against our eyelids during sleep. This makes them unusable for their intended purpose.
When I looked into replacing just the eye cups, I discovered they cost $50 each—which seems unreasonable for a component that failed so quickly with proper care. For that price, the eye cups should last considerably longer than 8 months.
I'm genuinely disappointed because these masks used to be excellent. Either the materials or construction quality has changed, or there's a manufacturing defect in this batch. I'd hoped Manta would stand behind their product with a reasonable replacement option, but the current solution isn't practical.
Unless Manta addresses these durability issues or offers better customer support for premature failures, I'll need to find a more reliable alternative—which is unfortunate after years of recommending these masks to others.
